Nice quite weekend -- Just what I wanted~

This has been the most relaxing weekend since returning from Italy! We've been so busy since we've returned from Italy, so we ordered up a nice quiet weekend for ourselves.
Ron trimmed most of the bushes in the front on Saturday morning, while I met two of my running buddies Jay & Mike and we ran a 10mi loop uptown. It was Jay's birthday so he gave himself a gift and cut his run by 3miles! (good for him) On my way home, I stopped in for my weekly Pilates session, then home. It was so humid this morning, so when I got home from running/Pilates it was time for some lunch & a nap. Ron was also tired, so we both took a nap. I have to admit, that's my Saturday morning routine when I run or cycle long. (lunch, What Not to Wear, & a nap!)

Saturday we took the Vette out for the afternoon. We finally took our lamps we bought in Italy to a lamp shop to fit them with shades. Of course nothing works as planned. We had to leave them to get gadgets added to them so that we can have a broader range of shades to choose from. That'll take a couple of weeks.....
Then we decided to go somewhere cool, so we hit the movies. We saw "Get Smart". It had some very funny parts, but I can't recommend it. Maybe a rental......

Sunday morning we decided to go for a group cycling ride. We arrived at the bike shop at 7:50am and ready to go. For some reason we was thinking the ride starts at 8am. Now why would we think that!??? We have did this ride multiple times. So may times I know the route. Ron and I both looked at each other and said: It starts at 9am, not 8. So we go back home, chill awhile, then head back. At 8:55am 4 tough cyclist were there, not to worry, folks usually show up last minute....we waited.....9:01am the same tough cyclist are hanging around. Ron and I decide this won't work!!! We're not going to try and keep up with those guys!!! Usually there are 15+ cyclist there of all types of average speeds. So what did we do? We went to the grocery store!!
We're going to try it again this afternoon at 5pm with a different group. We have never rode with this group, but I found them on the Internet and decided we would give it a shot. I think they'll be more our speed. The group is called "The B team". Meaning they are not a group of "A" Fast riders!!! Stay tuned.........

I did spend some time this week planning another trip....In October a group of us (myself, Gina, Melinda(possibly), Mike, Jay are flying to Balitmore to run. All of us except Mike are planning to run the Balimore Half Marathon. Mike, on the other hand is doing the full marathon. He plans to join the 50 State Marathon Team and complete a marathon in each state. Maui here we come~!!!! :-)

Birthday weekend.......

Friday night my family came over for my birthday! The rule is: If it's your birthday, then the spouse has to prepare the dinner. Sooooo Ron had to plan/prepare the dinner. He decided on something simple; hamburgers, baked beans, chips, apple pie. Mike, Teresa, Mom & Jack came over. Monica was on her honeymoon, and Ashley(my other niece) was probably with her honey!
Brittany and Chase stayed around for the food, then disappeared doing whatever they do on a Friday night after they got home from work.
Saturday I was up bright and early and ran in the neighborhood for 30mins, then Ron had the bikes ready and we went for a 24mi bike ride together. Afterwards, I took off to Pilates and Ron spent some quality time with the couch! When I returned from Pilates I decided I needed a little nap myself. My birthday weekend continued as Ron heated some smooth round rocks that he snuck home from our tuscan villa and gave me a warm stone massage. What a wonderful man!
After napping we decided to go the the movies. My choice, since it's my birthday! I decided to see "Ironman" since Gina said it was so good. That wouldn't have been Ron's first choice, but he liked it and I think he was just so excited I didn't pick "Sex In the City"!! After the movies & the huge tub of popcorn, we went by the Mexican restaurant that Brittany works at and had an appetizer & a Mohita(sp?). Things are slow at the restaurant lately & tips have been bad so when Brittany saw us she was excited because she knew her daddy would leave a big tip!!!!
Sunday I needed to get in another 1 1/2 hour bike ride so I rode this morning with a group. Ron rode 13miles with us, but since we were about a mile from home he headed home while I continued on with the group for a total of 30miles. The afternoon we spent at Ron's mom & dad's home. They cooked my favorite lunch for my birthday. My father-in-law can cook some mean fried chicken. And my mother-in-law cooked my other favorite---- fried okra! YUM, YUM.
It's been another busy, but fun weekend. At this point I don't think we have anything planned for next weekend. With the Italy trip, the wedding, my birthday, I'm ready for a relaxing weekend!

Monica's wedding

Monica(my neice) & Justin Mike(my brother) & Monica

After returning from Italy we had a busy weekend ahead of us! Ron & Chase went on a golf trip with his dad. Originally, the wedding was the week after the golf trip, but months ago Monica(my niece) had to move the date a week up due to availability of the church or reception, I don't recall. Ron was very disappointed he couldn't attend the wedding, but he didn't want to disappoint his dad and had already committed to the trip, so he went on the trip. His dad isn't getting any younger, so Ron tries to spend as much quality time with his dad as he can.
Friday night was the rehearsal/dinner and Saturday evening I attended the wedding.
It was beautiful, and went off without a hitch. The reception was fun with a nice dinner and music/dancing. I've attached a few pics.....Monica & Justin, Monica & my brother Mike, Monica, Mike, Teresa(my sister-in-law), & Monica, Mom & Jack(my stepfather).

Hello Gang ----- I'm going to try to blog.......

Hello Gang --- Since my family and friends enjoyed the Italy blog so much I decided to give this a shot. I won't commit to blogging every day, but maybe I can blog once a week just so you know what's going on in our life. Gina, since I see you most days, you will probably never need to go here! But for the rest of my wonderful buddies that I don't get to see often you can check in on us from time to time.
Also, I love to check in on Angie and Dick and really enjoy reading Angie's blog so I thought I would give it a shot. I'm by no means poetic, but you'll get the idea of what we're up too!!
Love, Pam and Ron
