Last week was crazy at work. Spent two nights at dinner uptown with Oracle folks. Was taken out for two lunches and two dinners. I loved the food mind you, but business meetings can be taxing, and sure not as much fun as having wonderful dinners with my friends. And of course that puts me home and in bed late!! Boooooo We had an event with Oracle that I was involved in coordinating, which took about 2 months. The event was all day Thursday. It all came together well, with the exception that the Marriott had a water main break two hours before lunch, so they couldn't provide lunch, which means we had to react with "Subway"!! lol
The weekend has flew by. I ran 10 miles because I needed to, Pilates, lunch, nap. Then Ron and I had "date night" and had a fab meal and several martinis Saturday night:-)
Sunday was spent cleaning the house, cycling, laundry.....I'm pooped,,,,and I gotta go to work in the morning~~ :-(
I am sooooooooo looking forward to Charleston!!!!
Oh, and I'm excited for Chase. He's transferring to UNC-Charlotte this fall. He received his acceptance letter over the weekend. He's still head strong about "criminal justice". :-(
No much going on lately, and I've been posting lately in Facebook, so I haven't been on the blog lately.
Last weekend was beautiful so I ran I half marathon in Charlotte, then cycled on Sunday with my cycling buddies. What a great beautiful Spring weekend.
This weekend, rain, rain, rain. Got a short run on on Sat. and will go to my mom's tonight to celebrate Jack's birthday. Tommorrow I might go to IKEA, and shop for a light weight laptop carrying case. I'm tried of carrying my laptop back and forth in the heavy bag that I have!
Cooper River Bridge Run is coming up. I can't wait to have a fun weekend with my buddies!! I need some serious R&R!
Took a road trip with my friend Mike and headed to Bama to run the Birmingham Half Marathon, while Mike ran the Full Marathon. It was a easy drive since it was all interstate. Weather was great! Course was not as hilly as Balitmore, but it did have it's share of hills! The event was well organized. Hum,,what's the next state?
I finally gave up. I've had problems sleeping off/on for the last 3 years. A couple of weeks ago I went about 8 nights of restless sleep. I'm not saying I didn't sleep at all, but it wasn't a sound constant sleep. Enough! So I saw my Neurologist I saw a couple of years ago when I got pretty sick, because they have a sleep center. He wanted to do a sleep study to make sure I had no sleep issues. If nothing is found, then he would give me sleeping pills for when I needed them. (Yeah, right, like I'm going to take them.) He said if I took sleeping pills and had sleep apnea then it could/would make it worse, so first he wanted to make sure everything was good.
A very interesting night. They could tell when I did anything. Blink, move my eyes any direction, breathe through my mouth or nose, snore, heart rate, blood pressure, if I moved my legs, etc. Stay tuned for the results.
Saturday was a usual day of running & Pilates. Saturday night Ron and I decided to spend a quite evening at home and play with making martinis. That was fun! We tried about 4 different kinds and settled on our favorite. A lot cheaper than going out and sampling them in restaurants~ Plus we didn't have to worry about driving home.
Sunday was a beautiful cool sunny day, so it was time to get the ol' bike out and cycle with the Bee team. I haven't been on a bike ride in a couple of months due to the cold. They are die hard cyclist, but I won't get out there unless it's over 50 degrees!
Now, it's Super Bowl time. I'm pulling for the underdogs and mostly watching the commericals.
